2024 China International New Energy Vehicles and Charging Solutions Expo

According to the "Development Plan for the New Energy Vehicle Industry (2021-2035)" issued by the State Council in 2020, China's new energy vehicle sector has entered a new stage of accelerated development. In 2021, the sales volume of new energy vehicles reached 1.367 million units, and by 2022, it surged to 6.887 million units, marking a fourfold increase over the span of two years. New energy vehicles now account for 14% of total new car sales. From January to May 2023, sales of new energy vehicles reached 2.94 million units, showing a year-on-year growth of 46.8%, and accounting for 27.7% of total new car sales. Particularly noteworthy is May, when sales of new energy vehicles reached 710,000 units, surpassing 30% of total new car sales. It is predicted that new energy vehicle sales will reach approximately 9 million units in 2023.

The development pace of new energy vehicles has far exceeded expectations, with China becoming the world's leading country in terms of both production and sales volume for eight consecutive years.
